How does the 'points' get calculated for each thread/reply?

So far all I can tell is that making a post is 5 points and each time someone replies to you adds 15 points to your post.  (You are welcome for your additional 15 points Wink [;)])

ah.. is that why the reply button is in each message and not at the end of the thread as in most forums! so it can track what user gets the points for the reply.
