Optional CSLA 1.x Compatibility

I notice that there are a few sections of code in the framework that support CSLA 1.x compatibility. For those of us coming into CSLA at 2.x and higher would it be possible to have a compiler #define directive to enable/disable backwards compatibility? I know I can easily do this myself but I figured it might be useful to some.
