CSLA + Mimer Provider Manager

Has anyone used CSLA in conjunction with the Mimer Provider Manager to achieve database independence? If not, are there better solutions out there? If so, how did you go about implementing your DataPortal_XYZ methods?

I haven't seen it mentioned before, but it probably would be used similar to NHibernate.
