Is there any documentation on using WCF with CSLA 3.0.2? The timeline for release of the eBook is Q3 2007... i.e., this month. Does anyone know if this is on schedule?

Rocky can answer this better....

But the writing and proofing are done.

The C# edition is in final editing. Once that's done I'll make it available for purchase.

Then I'll start the VB conversion. That should be done (I hope) around the first week of October.

C# is what we are looking for. Since you mentioned early October for VB, is it safe to assume C# will be available in September?

( Actually, I could use it TODAY. :) )

I am hopeful that the editing will be done by early next week.

Hi Rocky
Would there be an e-book for purchase too?
Thanks

RockfordLhotka replied on Friday, September 21, 2007

The Using CSLA .NET 3.0 will only be an ebook. This will be available within the next couple weeks from http://store.lhotka.net.

The Expert C#/VB 2008 Business Objects books will be paper books, but I think Apress is selling electronic copies of all their paper books, so you should be able to get an e-version of that too. These books won’t be available until May or June of 2008 though, so don’t hold your breath J

Can you discuss with Apress to provide CHM version of e-book? PDF is good for viewing at PC, but definitely not PPC. A CHM book can be viewed in PPC quite nicely with rearrangement of the content.

I’ll mention it to them, but they are using DRM and I don’t think CHM files support any type of DRM.

I wrote to them for this issue. They told me they don't have CHM version. I believe it will be much efficient if you can discuss with them. It's really painful to read PDF document in PDA.

Thanks

As I say, I’ll mention it. But I don’t think it will happen.

You mentioned you were hopeful the C# 3.0 eBook would be ready early this week. Any update on the latest ETA?

( Do I seem anxious? lol... But, seriously though, I REALLY need this book for a new project that will be using WCF.)

RockfordLhotka replied on Friday, September 28, 2007

Well, you are in luck. I just put it online not half an hour ago – just haven’t had time to post that to the forum yet J
